Tasks
Poster Designer
At the beginning of the season the holder of this post receives details of the films to be screened from the Returning Officer and generates portrait and landscape posters to attract audiences to our shows. These are fed to the Poster Publicist.
Brochure Designer
Each season about 5,000 brochures are delivered locally. The design has to be created then passed to the external printer. Input for this role comes from the Returning Officer and the Advertising and Sponsorship Coordinator. The finished item must be ready for distribution to the last audience of the previous season.
Brochure Distributor
Many distributors make light work of taking a brochure to almost every address in the locality. The Returning Officer retains a list of streets covered to avoid duplication.
Blogger
Attends the film post-show discussion groups and writes an engaging summary of the arguments and deliberations for the RCC blog, preserving a wonderful archive of community film criticism.
Discussion Group Facilitator
Each fortnight a discussion group assembles in the hall 5 minutes after a screening and remotely via a Zoom meeting. The Facilitator leads this discussion, which typically lasts for 20 minutes, encouraging those reluctant to speak and perhaps filling in with background facts about the film.
Licence and Media Purchaser
Takes input from the Voting Coordinator and secures media and licences for each film. This must be completed before the Brochure Designer can get to work as some of the most popular films in the season ballot will be unavailable for lack of media or licence.
Voting Coordinator
This person arranges two ballots: the first, of volunteers and nominators the results of which are then sent to all on the newsletter distribution list. The Voting Coordinator must administer and receive the votes.
Bookkeeper
After each film the Bookkeeper must account for and bank the income from cash and card payments, then settle the debts and expense claims for that film. After each quarter Gift Aid claims are made to HMRC and bank accounts balanced. At the end of the year final accounts are produced and sent to the Independent Examiner before being presented to the Trustees and on to the AGM.
Advertising & Sponsorship Coordinator
This task holder solicits sources of additional income then coordinates the receipt of payments and arranges design and publicity on screen and in our brochure.
Webmaster
The Webmaster is responsible for maintaining the website and also our ticketing site and blog.
Trustee
The Trustees are the governing body that run RCC. They are accountable to the AGM and also hold ultimate responsibility for compliance with necessary regulations imposed by HMRC and the Charity Commission.
Independent Examiner
This is the person or people who scrutinise the bank statements, receipts, and payments recorded by the Bookkeeper to confirm to the AGM that the accounts presented are an accurate reflection of the financial state of RCC.
Immersive Designer
Creates an environment to enhance the theme of the day's film - could be with hall decorations, costumes, live entertainment.
Brochure Distribution Manager
The task of the holder of this role is to match up Brochure Distributors to streets so that all addresses in local streets receive one brochure.
