Tasks
Car Park Captain
Arrives ahead of opening to ensure safe pedestrian access and encourage considerate parking in the hall surrounds.
Driver / Chaperone
Collects and drops off local audience members who would otherwise be unable to reach the cinema under their own steam.
Host
Welcomes arrivals at the main door and helps them get their booking confirmation or QR codes ready for scanning. At the end of the evening, assists in reuniting coats and umbrellas with their rightful owners.
Ticket Control
The welcoming face of RCC. Ideal for those who enjoy a happy public persona, a cool head, and comfortable basic computer skills. Responsibilities include scanning pre-booked tickets and managing walk-in sales.
Raffle Organiser
Sells raffle tickets as the audience arrives and during the busy interval, helping drive vital fundraising. Optionally draws the winning numbers at the end of the interval and buys top-up prizes.
Usher
Ensures the performance environment runs smoothly while looking after our guests. Ushers help visitors navigate the hall, locate their seats, find the facilities, and access the catering areas safely.
Catering Crew
Lays out our refreshments and serves visitors wanting drinks, ice cream, and homemade cakes. At the end of the show, helps wash up, clean down, and pack the kit away.Our Catering Lead handles the crucial mid-week magic: keeping an eye on inventory, managing stock levels, and purchasing replacement supplies ahead of show night (with all costs fully reimbursed, of course).
Cocktail Mixer
Invents or curates themed cocktails and non-alcoholic mocktails for specific screenings, manages the ingredients, and treats our audience to something special.
Pâtissier
Bakes gorgeous, film-themed sweet treats to delight our audience during the interval. All ingredient costs are fully reimbursed.
Floor Manager
An experienced volunteer role focused on leading the team on the night to deliver a seamless experience. Requires a friendly, confident persona, an eye for the overall flow of the evening, and a calm approach to troubleshooting issues.
Projectionist
The core technical engine of the night. Sets up and packs down our commercial-grade projection, media laptops, and multi-channel surround sound audio systems. Manages the house lighting cues, pre-show reels, and feature presentation to guarantee pristine playback.This role includes a vital mid-week task: updating the dedicated media and box office laptops in the days before a screening, ensuring all operating systems, software licences, and playback assets are fully prepared and verified well in advance of show night.
Photographer
Captures the life, energy, and smiles of our events. Selects and uploads the best shots to our community social media albums the following day to preserve our shared memories.
Feedback Finder
We can only adhere to our motto (every show a little better) if someone finds out what visitors would appreciate adding to or changing in our shows. The Feedback Finder is the person that asks the questions that drive us forward to a better tomorrow.
First Aider
Takes clear control of the room should a medical incident occur. Requires an active, formal first-aid certification and up-to-date refresher training.
MC
Introduces the film from the front of the stage, sharing little-known trivia or contextual history about the feature, or introducing live performers when hosting a themed event.
Furniture Arranger
At least an hour before doors open, we need the screens, tables and chairs laid out to the pattern in the diagram that the Floor Manager provides. After the show everything needs to be dismantled and returned to storage. May help with transforming the ticket desk into a discussion group forum during the interval.
