Food plays a significant part in our entertainment of our visitors. A few volunteers have attained 5 start standard for their baking and are happy to add character to the evening with food that is traditional of the region where the main film is based.
The Sound of Music was a joyful sing-along as many in the audience knew the tunes, and the words were displayed underneath the screen. Props, liver performance, and fine cooking made the evening one of the most enjoyable.
Slumdog Millionaire was typical of many films where cooking that is thematically related to the main feature film is an important way people get involved and in the process educate themselves about different cultures. The cake here was an Indian recipe with cardamom.
