The evening started with a wonderfully informative talk by Anne Goldstein on The Beacon [hotel 400 yards from RCC] and its Child Refugees.
During the interval we enjoyed Jewish Kaffee Kuchen (vanilla sponge with an almond and cinnamon streusel topping, perfect with coffee) baked by Karen Gardner. The remarkable true story of this German Coffee Cake recipe can be read here.
After the film a small group met under the screen for a discussion group, one seat was occupied by a computer linking those who preferred to connect via Zoom.
