A Man Called Otto (2022)

A Man Called Otto is a comedy-drama film starring Tom Hanks as Otto, a grumpy widower who wants to end his life. It is based on the novel and the Swedish film A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman.

Otto is a bitter and lonely man who has lost his wife and his job. He has strict routines and principles, and he dislikes everyone around him. He tries to kill himself several times, but he always fails because of some interruption or distraction.

His life changes when a young family moves in next door. He meets Marisol, a lively and witty woman who challenges him to see life differently. She becomes his unlikely friend and helps him cope with his grief and anger. She also introduces him to other people in the neighbourhood, such as Tommy, a friendly mechanic, and Anita, a kind nurse.

Otto gradually opens up to Marisol and her family, and he starts to care for them. He also reveals his past, such as his love story with his wife, his feud with his father, and his passion for cars. He learns to forgive himself and others, and he finds a new purpose in life.

The film is a heart-warming and funny story about love, loss, and friendship. It shows that family can sometimes be found in the most unexpected places. It also celebrates the power of human connection and kindness. A Man Called Otto is a film that will make you laugh, cry, and smile.
